Welcome NWEA Members!
The Annual Convention for the NWEA will be moving to a new home this year. The convention will be held at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin—Green Bay. In order to maintain the high quality event that you have come to expect from the NWEA, a change had to be made.
The Weidner Center puts the NWEA in a facility designed for presentations and continues to allow us to have everything under one roof. All the things that you have grown to love over the years will still be at the Convention.
The keynote will take place in the spacious Cofrin Hall, with ample seating for all attendees. Exhibits will be set up on the first and second floors of the facility with gorgeous views of the Chihuly Chandelier. The rooms for the breakout sessions are spacious and will ensure that everyone can find a seat. Finally, this move puts the NWEA Convention back in an educational setting and builds a bridge to future teachers attending the University.
We hope you will join us at the Weidner Center for the 2009 NWEA Annual Convention. Dynamic speakers, a great environment, friends, and fun are waiting for you at this year’s event. Our goal is to continue to grow this convention for you, to make things better each year, and to provide you with the absolute best opportunities in professional development.
The 2009 Convention Program is coming SOON!
Stop back to check out what learning opportunities await you at the 2009 NWEA convention!

|

Judy Loefer and Joan Zipperer were the 2007 recipients of the NWEA's Alma Therese Link Education Award. The award is given annually to a non-professional educator, individual or group of people, who help to advance the cause of education.
The nomination letter was submitted by Grant and Sharon Mattes from Reedsville and reads as follows:
Judy and Joan have volunteered their services for the past 16 years at the Reedsville Elementary School. Every first day of the week during the school year, these individucals come in to collect lunch money from all of those students taking hot lunch. They take a cart from room to room and sell weekly and daily hot lunch and milk tickets. They are also responsible for distributing free and reduced lunch tickets. . .
